Favorite Christmas Songs

I used to not let myself listen to any Christmas music until after Thanksgiving--but this year I have completely broken down and I'm playing the carols pretty much 24/7. I'm also wrapping presents already. I don't even recognize myself!

So here are my top five Christmas songs:

1. O Holy Night--This is my top song and I don't have a particular version that I prefer--I just love this song!

2. All I Want For Christmas Is You (My Chemical Romance version)--I pretend that Gerard is singing it to me!

3. Mary's Boy Child by "Boney M"--This is such a fun song and I don't seem to hear it very often, so I'm always excited when it comes on the radio.

4. Blue Christmas (Elvis version)--I never get sick of this one.

5. Holly Jolly Christmas (Burl Ives)--I've love this song and the Rudolph movie that I've been watching my whole life!

What are your top five?

Mary's Boy Child is my favorite Christmas carol...I love it so much. My Hubby and I went walking at Busch Gardens and they were playing Christmas carols!!!

O Holy Night is my all-time favorite Christmas song, too! One of my favorite renditions of it is by the Oak Ridge Boys, actually... :)

I'm such a Christmas nut; I have 23 Christmas CDs stacked next to my computer right now to load into iTunes for my iPod. (I just got it for Christmas last year so I haven't had a chance to load it up for the holidays yet!)

Other favorite Christmas songs -

- The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) by Mel Torme

- Have Yourself a Merry, Little Christmas from my John Denver and the Muppets Christmas album that I've had since I was a kid

- Happy Holiday/The Holiday Season by Andy Williams

- Mary Did You Know? ... maybe the Kenny Rogers version; don't really have a favorite

I could go on and on, I adore Christmas! :D

We try to follow the same rule, but the radio stations are playing Christmas 24/7!
I am a sucker for:
1. Silver Bells (Reminds me of my grandparents for some reason.)
2. Star of Wonder by Bare Naked Ladies.
3. All I want for Christmas- Mariah Carey
That is all I can think of right now : )

I am SO adding Money m to my holiday mix! Just when I was thinking I needed some more Jamaican-religious-groove sounds for the holidays and then you just give me the PERFECT song!

Hands down Christmas Cannon. Love it! About cry when I hear it. I just downloaded it for my blog.

Next is Do you hear what I hear? I can't think of the artist in the version I like but it is a real rich deep voice, and was made in the 60's.

LOVE CHRISTmas!

Still can't do it until after Thanksgiving day.

It's a must that you listen to Christmas music starting the second week in November. A must I tell you! I love Frosty The Snowman by the Ronnelles or the Ronnettes (I forget which it is)

My favorite 2 albums are the Bing Crosby and Elvis Christmas! I don't think I could pick 5 songs...I love almost every one!

But I don't like that Christmas Shoes song. There. I said it.

I've started listening, too! One of the stations on Sirius has been playing nothing but Christmas music for awhile now. And yep, I've already started wrapping, too!

O Holy Night is my all-time favorite Christmas carol. I especially like Josh Groban's version. In fact, I love his Christmas CD he did last year!

I like Holly Jolly Christmas, too. And Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree!

Thanks for my introduction to Chemical Romance! Fun version of the song. And, I'll admit, I'd never heard the Mary's Boy Child song, either. I quite enjoyed the skinny guy with his shiny silver pants dancing to the beat and looking totally out of place. :) Hmmm, top 5 Christmas songs - O Holy Night is definitely up there, Carol of the Bells (I especially like the Destiny's Child version and the Trans Siberian Orchestra with Metallica - I think it's Metallica - version. Away in a Manger - it just brings back sweet childhood memories. For my 4th choice, I'm going to collectively say the Christmas songs from the original Home Alone - love all those classic songs. And # 5, possibly The Little Drummer Boy. I love Christmas tunes.

I love "Do you hear what I hear"...and the Little Drummer Boy is beautiful...and the Transiberian Christmas cannon is pretty too (or I Think that is the one I like - it is the one that sounds like Pachelbel's Canon?)

I am really in the spirit this year, too. I don't know what's gotten into me!
