Resolutions Review

Well, it's been a couple months since I announced my list of resolutions, so I thought I should own up to how I'm doing on them.

Here's my original list--let's go over it, shall we?

--To floss/use my "gum simulator" twice a day. Complete and utter FAIL! I give myself an F--. Why can't I do this? It doesn't take too long. I must work on this and turn myself around!

--To exercise three times a week (twice with a trainer, once by myself). I guess I'll give myself a B- on this one. I have been doing the workouts with the trainer and occasionally by myself--but not often. Must work on this too!

--To go to my watercolor class once a week. Finally an A!! Now, there were a couple of weeks when I just couldn't go--the snowblower fiasco and the spelling bee were conflicts--but other than that I went. This week is my last class.
Speaking of which--have I told you about that class? There are two other students besides myself (everyone else dropped out)--one is a woman who seriously looks and sounds like she's escaped from a mental institution--at the last class she sat there whispering to herself for like an hour. It was so creepy!

The other person in the class is a mailman. He:
A). Looks just like John Malkovich.
B). Is obsessed with pop-up books.
C). Wears full-blown "farmer's" overalls (unless he's in his mailman outfit).
D). Stutters.
E). Told me that when he first saw me, he thought to himself "This girl is wild!" (!?!?!)

--To practice painting three times a week (not including the class). Hmmmm--I'll give myself a B- on this one--in my defense, it's been really hard to get my supplies out what with the constant cleaning and decluttering. I could do better though...

--To only eat foods that are heart healthy (except for special occasions). Major FAIL**.

--To not eat anything in the evening once I have finished dinner. Another FAIL**.

**However, effective today, I have started a HARDCORE diet. Like a low/no carbs/lose 20 pounds in two weeks kind of diet. We go on our Spring Break vacation in two weeks and I just don't want to feel gross! As of today I am super motivated and I would give myself an A+ so far--but tomorrow could be a completely different story, so any motivation/words of wisdom you have would be greatly appreciated!!

If you lose 20 pounds in two weeks AND you are not in the hospital after wards...I want to know how you did it...I have been exercising and dieting for three months and have only lost 5 pounds...even with Russian Pilates instructor :(

That's why resolutions suck!! Just live the day for the day! :-)

You're going better then I am. The only one I could stick to was no more drinking Dr. Pepper's and that's only b/c DP's make me sick.

I think you are doing a great job keeping most of your resolutions. It's hard to stay faithful sometimes and then plus the everyday hussle of life can get in the way.

You mean you're not wild?! ;P

Diet? What's that?
I hate excerising and love food too much to lose 20 lbs. lol.

Happy Tuesday!

Who needs resolutions anyway!

Did you know that HBO is doing a "Grey Gardens" series? Drew Barrymore will be Edie. I thought of you when I found this out!

I think you have done really well! When I first saw your list I thought that you chose ALOT of resolutions. Focusing on one or two has always been a good approach for me:) I think it is awesome that you have kept up with the water color classes. It is so important to do stuff JUST FOR YOU. Especially with all the kid stuff! You having 5 kids know this! I have 4 and am overwhelmed!

Good job! I think you are doing great. And I think your fellow classmates sound like a hoot!

Oh geez...walk everyday and eat very close to the earth. You can eat piles and piles of roasted veggies (no oil) and there are barely any calories. Easy to do 1000 calories a day and not be hungry. Red bell peppers, asparagus, cauliflower and brocolli are the best!

It sounds like you're having about as much success with your resolutions as I am with mine.

How could you miss your watercolor class when there's so much to watch! Those two sound like real kooks.

Those are great goals. If you missed the mark, just get back on the horse:-)

I think you need to snap some pictures of your classmates...

Just picture yourself at your goal weight. Repeat that number(your ideal weight) over and over in your head, or as often as you can remember! Dont let any negative thoughts creep in! Keep it up.
Its working for me. I even have my daughter tell me that number every so often!

Good job! Take the average between the 3 grades and you are successful!
Do you not find the weirdest people in painting class or what?!?!!?
My recent class there was guy in there and he was 110% obsessed with Butterflies! I know he painted at least 10 pictures of butterflies. The weird part he would bring in these dead butterflies and lay them out and paint them. Um, dude, don't bring in dead butterflies. He would pet them too! I moved at the very opposite end of the table from him.
Maybe I should do a "Weird people in painting class" post. I have seen a few!
