The Green Stuff

Our St. Patrick's Day went a little haywire! First of all, Gooser came down with some kind of ailment the night before--he started complaining of a headache (which always freaks me out in little kids) and then in the middle of the night he was crying that he had a sore throat and feverish. So he obviously didn't go to school, but he seemed pretty okay this morning.

Here's a pic of Gooser and Pickle in their green:
I had to drag poor sick Gooser along on a few errands--the most important one being the grocery store for the fixings for the Irish meal. So I get to the store and Gooser started feeling nauseous so I tried to grab the stuff as fast as I could so we could get out of there.

I was slowed because i wasn't seeing corned beef in any of the obvious places. Usually around this time of year the corned beef is everywhere! So I finally asked someone and she told me they had no corned beef. Huh? She rambled on about the warehouse and a shortage, then she pulled some weird premade corned beef dinner thing and said it was the last one left.

With Gooser looking like he was going to blow any second, I grabbed the makeshift beef and got out of there.
But it wasn't bad! And it sure was a lot easier to made than my usual extravavganza--so that was a good thing!

We also made the glowing green cocktails from Noble Pig.
They were good! I also think these one be fun to serve at Halloween--you could pour them from a glass container with a skull or something on it that said "poison."

I also made this totally decadent Bailey's Irish Cream cake, also from Noble Pig! I just left the nuts out because of some allergies.

OMG this was crazy delicious! My no-carb thing flew out the window--I HAD to have a piece!

Here's the green group: Pickle's new favorite thing to do is remove her diaper. I found her today at the dining room table--commando, and drawing brown marker all over Patrick's poster of the endocrine system that's due in science class tomorrow. Noooooooooo! Luckily, Patrick was a good sport about it and is redoing it as we speak. Good thing she's so cute!

Hope Gooser is feeling better... he still looks happy! I had to laugh that his green is a Spiderman shirt... expected somehow a green Batman shirt!

And as always - Pickle just looks adorable... the hat is priceless!

All those kiddos are just the best looking set of kiddos!!!

I swear you amaze me sometimes, woman! I don't know how in the world you do it all!! And HOW do you get all 5 kids, adorably dressed always, to sit and smile at the same time? It's tough with my 3!! As you know, we think your family rocks! I gotta check out that cake!!

First I want Pickle's dress. Second, that makeshift corned beef is hysterical. I have never seen anything like it! It would have been better than the 1800 pots and pans I used to create dinner last night...ugh...it was brutal.

I am so glad you made the drinks and the cake. Good huh. Yes the drinks are good for Halloween, I think you could also call them Lounge Lizards. They really do glow!

My grocery store didn't have corned beef either. I had to go to the warehouse club to get some. What is up with that?

Love the pics.

I saw a story on the news the other day that they are making a breakthrough for people with nut allergies. I hope that works out! That would be pretty cool!
