Sorry--no restaurant adventure for today! This turned into a crazy week--luckily, everything is ok, but my sister and her family got into a bad car accident.
My sister was driving and all four kids and her husband were in the car. Some jerk ran a stop sign and she couldn't stop in time and crashed right into him. My sister has a concussion, but I think she's going to be ok and the kids and her husband all seem to be fine, thank goodness. The car, however is totalled.
The really scary thing is that her husband had just put his seat belt on a couple minutes before the accident happened. He had it off because he was holding something and couldn't coordinate latching it, but my sister had just clicked it in for him.
Anyway, I thought I would use this experience to remind everybody to keep your seat belts on at all times! I know it sounds like a no-brainer, but sometimes if I'm just driving a couple blocks or whatever I don't bother--but I won't be doing that anymore! I shudder to think of what would have happened if my brother-in-law didn't have his seat belt on.
Stay safe!!

Oh, what a relief to hear they are okay! What a great reminder for everyone! So so glad everyone is okay!!!!
It is my biggest complaint with my adult children...they sometimes get lazy and don't put them on!!!!
Especially if they are in the back seat...which I have said will not save you as you will become a human missel! I have chased them down in a parking lot like loony yelling "Put on your seat belt!"...I won't start the car when they are with me until they put it on. I don't understand I always made them wear a seat belt when they were at home!
My brother is now a homicide detective but prior he investigated only vehicular man slaugter...it only takes wearing a seat belt to save your life in many, many cases!
Can you tell I feel strongly about this?
I am so glad your BIL had his on as did the rest of the family. I hope your sister is feeling better very soon. Thank God they were okay!
Cars can be replaced but our loved ones can't!
I agree....I ALWAYS wear my seatbelt...and Z always will too...even when he's not in his carseat anymore.
SOOOO glad your sister and her family are alright!!! That is scary stuff!!! Thanks be to God!!!
Oh my goodness, I am so glad everyone is alright! It makes me furious when such damage and pain are caused by people ignoring the simplest rules of the road. Anyway, lots of get-well vibes to your sister! ~~~
Oh no- Thank God they are okay, Jen.
Pssstt.. I have an award for you:

Oh, I'm so glad they're okay!! And I'm SO glad they were wearing their seatbelts. It's so important.
So glad they are okay. That is so scary and luckily he was clicked in. Good thoughts being sent their way...
It is really, really scary. My SIL has 7 kids!! With so many, she has to drive something big...an Expedition. On her way to work, she was T-boned by a drunk driver. Had she being driving something smaller and not had her seat belt on, she would have been killed. That would have left my 7 nieces and nephews without a mother. Yeah...wear your seat belt!!
A good message.
I am on post #99 so stay tuned. :)
I'm glad to hear no one got seriously hurt!!
Sometimes it's hard for me to believe that wearing seatbelts just weren't done until about 20 years ago. I remember being a teenager and begging my Mom to wear her seatbelt!
Oh wow! I am so glad everyone is okay!
Glad to hear everyone is o.k -- It's automatic when we get in the car first thing we do. I will keep them in my prayer. Thanks for sharing -- Much Love
Anissa
I am so glad they are ok. Its compulsory to wear seat belts in Australia, big fine and loss of points if you don't. So its automatic. And kids have to be in suitable car seat restraints too.
I also gave you an award - pop over when you get time.
How lucky that he had gotten his seatbelt on before the accident. So scary. I always wear mine and insist that everyone put theirs on whenever I am in the car.
Uh, oh! I'm so sorry for your sis. Dummies behind the wheel suck. I hope everyone is alright. Thanks so much for stopping by. Sorry, I couldn't get back sooner - family in town for a birthday party.
You know, I've read your blog before, like way back. I really liked it, but I was shy to comment on anyone because I tried to reach out to a blogger before and they were sort of harsh to me. No big deal, but I was terrified to comment on anyone for the longest time. I found you originally from BHJ site. I love your site. I'm a little scared of clowns, but I still love your site.
You tell anyone who will listen. I was an EMT for awhile. It is just awful to see what happens to the ones that weren't wearing their seat belts. Especially the babies. I am so glad your sis and her family are ok.
What a scary story Jennifer. I am happy everyone is OK!
OMG! I'm so glad everyone is alright! My family thinks I'm nuts but I refuse to even put the car in gear until everyone has their seatbelts fastened. At least I know we're as safe as we can be because you never know about other drivers!
Whew! So glad to hear everyone is ok! That is some scary stuff!
My oldest girl is almost tall enough to not have to sit in a booster seat... she is looking forward to getting out of it. She'll ask sometimes not to sit in it, especially if its just going to or coming from school, which is only a mile away. But I make her sit in it... you just never know when something like this will happen!
I'm so glad everyone is ok. How scary.
Thankgoodness that nobody was seriously hurt!!!
Yes, it is really important to wear your seatbelts. I used to be a volunteer ambulance officer, way back in the days when seatbelts were not the law. Very nasty.
Something that people forget, is thedogs. they should also be seat belted in. You can get harnesses for them that attatch to the seat belt. Dogs can become guided missles when unrestrained during a crash.
I've been at crashes, where not only has Fido been killed, but also humans in the car when hit by Fido...
Wow! So glad everyone is ok.
