This was mostly a day of of travel--and it was pretty uneventful considering all the crazy delays and whatnot that are so common.
We got up bright and early and headed to to airport in a giant limo--the limo was strictly for convenience, but we had to do the giant stretch style just to accommodate all of us and our luggage. So it was all very fancy stepping into a huge white limo at the crack of dawn!
The airport was surprisingly uncomplicated--even the ordeal of getting five kids through security went smoothly. We had about an hour to kill, so we hung in the "Admiral's Club" which was nice because the kids could relax and play games in the "family room."
The plane was also surprisingly easy too--it actually took off on time! It seemed like last year when we made the same trip we were delayed every step of the way.
Pickle seemed to enjoy the ride ad I had a backpack full of toys and stickers to keep her busy. One minor mishap with her though--I think I over-hydrated her because she had a major diaper mishap that left her tights, onesie and dress completely drenched. Luckily, I had thrown an extra outfit for her in the carry-on--but an hour later, the same thing happened and I had to strip her down ad dry her dress with that air-blowing thing. Makeshift!
Pickle didn't seem to mind though!
Here's something she did to pass the time: had a meow-meow birthday party.
When we landed (early!) there was a minor mishap though--the stroller (and a new fancy one at that) that we had checked at the gate and was supposed to be waiting for us as we exited the plane, wasn't there or anywhere else...it's missing. So they are doing an "investigation" and have loaned us a gross dirty stroller in the mean time.
The rental car place was a bit of an ordeal--but so over-the-top that I had to laugh! The guy behind the counter should be a character on Saturday Night Live. At one point he was running through the car rental screaming and waving my car keys over his head.
We settled into the hotel and then headed out to one of my favorite places in the world: Pinkberry! It was bittersweet though because they told me my absolute favorite thing to order there, shaved ice, is being discontinued soon. I think I screamed "Noooooooo!" I already have some ideas for the Pinkberry executives about how they could keep it on the menu and I will be emailing them toute suite.
Then Pickle and I went on a mini shopping spree for her at this adorable shop, Lola et Moi. I'll show you some of her fashions tomorrow!
Oh, on the way to Pinkberry we were driving next to this car full of guys that were holding this sign out the window.
What does it mean??
Then we went to dinner at one of my favorite restaurants here, The Border Grill. OMG it's good! If you're ever in L.A., I highly recommend checking it out. My dinner was a platter of roasted vegetables and each one was better than the one before. If veggies always tasted this good, I would never eat anything else!
Here's Gooser at dinner. I know he's feeling better--this is the first time he's had his Batman outfit in a week! He was funny--I took a candid-type pic of him during dinner and he said "Mommy, don't you dare put that on your blog!"
Here's me with my eyeball jewelry. My mom and I had these made a loooong time ago in Mexico--we used some eyes from my glass eye collection. You likey?
And here are some of the boys acting all crazy-like
Must...go...to...sleep...now...

And totally laughed at the visual of the guy at the car rental place!!!
Oh I would love to go to LA! Sounds like so much fun! Glad to hear everything is going smoothly thus far!
So glad to hear things went well (considering the stroller mishap - hope they find it!) Yummo on the dinner - look delicious!!!
Wow! Beverly Hills, huh? Looks great! Glad you all had a great time! Hope you get your stroller back!!!
Once Cate had a diaper explosion on the plane and we had to throw away her clothes it was so bad!
Looks like you are having a wonderful time so far!
Diaper explosions and dirty strollers. The dirty stroller is worse though! Have fun today.
Loved all of the pictures. Sounds like you're having a good time. My family does that too - take a limo to the airport. Isn't that funny? Dad doesn't like to leave his car at the airport. He said it's cheaper to have a limo pick us all up at one location when we have a family trip, rather than leave the vehicle in parking at the airport! Too funny.
I love the eyeball jewelry!!!!
Pickle on the plane with her little meow party was so cute!
Glad to see Gooser is on the mend!
Hope you get your stroller back!!!
