Santa Visit--Take One!

We took the kids to an annual Christmas fun fest that my mom hosts for us at a fancy club. The kids love it because there's an all-you-can-eat brunch and lots of fun activities.

They got to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus (who arrived by boat!) and hang out with them a little and get some gifts (they were giving out toy penguins--Gooser is holding his).
Notice Pickle isn't in the pic. She wouldn't go anywhere close to Santa! She did take her penguin though--but only because I handed it to her.

There was a balloon artist there--she made a Batman for Gooser.
And a baby for Pickle.
Teddy and Patrick got some fun balloons too and face painting to match!
Close-ups!
Of course Gooser wanted a Batman scenario.
And Andy went with a Santa theme.
Here are a few family portraits. The whole group!

Me with the Pickle:
There was also a caricature artist who did this brilliant rendition of Gooser! So onto the next Santa event--I always take the kids for a formal pic with Santa and a lunch at our traditional place with my sister. I'm dreading the Pickle vs. Santa showdown!! Something tells me it will get ugly!

I know, I know, you have a passel of boys there, but all I can focus on is Pickle's adorable dress!

Maybe it is because I'm the mommy of a girl, but that is the first thing my eyes went to in the group shots! :)

Good luck with Pickle v. Santa - my younger sister was petrified of anyone/thing in a costume - clowns, Santa, the Easter Bunny etc. I can't tell you how many pictures there are of me trying desperately to get my face time with Santa while my sister is screaming bloody murder trying to get the heck off his other knee... Finally my parents gave up on trying to get the picture with both of us at the same time, thank goodness! :)

Wow, it looked like the kids had a great time.

I have the feeling my daughter will be the same way. She has already shyed away from at the Holiday Express, but we go for our official Santa pics this Thursday. Santa comes down the chimney and tells stories before you sit down with him, so I am hoping she warms up to that! We'll see. Anyway, I can't wait to see how Pickle reacts!

That was an awesome balloon artist. That octopus was so cute! I don't think Summer is going to like Santa too much either. I will cross my fingers. Good luck!

I can't decide if I want to take Sophie to see Santa. She is generally pretty okay with strangers, but she hasn't seen one with a long white beard and a crazy laugh yet. Great pictures!

I can't wait to see what happens and I can't wait to see what happens when I take my kids to see Santa. Should be interesting.
Love all the family pictures. Beautiful

Those balloons are so cool! My daughter went through the afraid of Santa phase when she was about 3. That was the year that only her brother was in ANY pictures with Santa. Oh well. Memories.

Wow, that balloon artist is AMAZING! The last balloon artist I came across was most proud of his "snake" creation. (BTW, the last balloon artist I came across was also my husband.)

Pickle is adorable as usual.....and I'm not taking Z anywhere near Santa this year. I'm just Bah Humbug about having to deal with the tantrum that I know will ensue.
