Lunch With The Dolls

I have an addiction and it's called American Girl Place. If you haven't heard of it before, it's a ginormous doll emporium with zillions of dolls to choose from, doll clothes (with matching little girl clothes!), doll furniture, doll hair salon, photo studio, theater and...lunch with your dolls.

I can feel myself losing control the second I enter the store. I have always loved dolls and having a little girl has allowed me to relive my doll obsession full force.

I went on a small spree there a few weeks ago to get Pickle some Christmas presents and I couldn't resist a matching doll/Pickle Christmas outfit. Point blank: There's nothing cuter on the Earth than a little girl and baby doll in matching outfits! Case in point:

So Pickle and "Bitty Baby" got all gussied up and we headed over to American Girl for lunch today to meet my friend and her two little girls.

One of the fun things about having lunch there is that they give you little high chairs so the dolls can sit and "eat" with you. Of course, Pickle marches to her own drum and immediately dismantled the high chair, leaving Bitty Baby draped across my purse in the boothwhile "Meow-Meow" got the royal throne:
Through the majority of the lunch, she amused herself by pouring water from the big mug into the little mug.
And occasionally giving her doll a drink.
And Meow-Meow got some too. What's with the expression on her face here!?!

They have a little game on the table--a box filled with questions to discuss while you're waiting for the food. One of the questions we got was "What three celebrities would you like to be friends with?" I thought this was a fun question! Mine would be:

1. Gerard Way (big surprise, right?)

2. Oprah Winfrey

3. Michelle Obama

Who would yours be?

It was so much fun having lunch with my friend and getting our girls together. We don't see each other nearly enough and we have vowed to do it more often. Here we are (why do I look so squinty??):

And here's the whole gang:

One funny thing--my friend's four year old had a hard time with Pickle's name and called her "Ostrich" through the whole lunch. "Do you like your cookie, Ostrich?" It was SO cute!! I think Pickle has another nickname now!

Ostrich all dolled out on the way home!

P.S. I added the "Follow Me" feature to my sidebar. I'm not totally sure what it's all about--but I'd love if you would follow me!

I absolutely LOVE Pickle (I mean Ostrich) and Bitty Baby in their matching red dresses! I want to be friends with:

Eddie Izzard, Ellen DeGeneres and Jada Pinkett Smith.

I'm betting those four would make for some interesting dinner conversation.

So, I love that store, too! My daughter already has a bitty twin (her cousin has the other twin), so we are giving her mathching clothes for her upcoming birthday in Jan. I, too, could spend hours in that store. I hadn't heard of the photo studio, so I'll have to check if ours has one! How fun!

Russell Crowe, Adam Duritz, and Oprah. Ok, I'm a bit shallow...Russell--just bc he's cute. His personality seems like it may be lacking! LOL

That is soooo precious!!! Ostrich is adorable!!!!

My cousin took her daughter there about a month ago.....they drove all the way from St. Louis just to spend the day there - Mommy and daughter time. I thought of you when she said she was going because it was right after you and Ostrich had just gone....

Yeah, Ostrich is just rolling right off my tongue now.... :)

She is too stinkin' cute with her little matching doll. This sounds like a blast! Is that the same place that they went to on Jon and Kate Plus 8? Just sounds like a little slice of heaven for girls. That was such a cute post!

May I rant on your blog? Thank you...
I am so jealous, you have no idea how jealous I am. I have been playing with dolls since I was a baby myself. I have six daughters, and not one of them plays with dolls. NOT ONE! How did this happen to me? I buy them dolls, They want Barbies and Bratz. I hate those damn things. I want baby dolls to dress and feed and play with. I may have to borrow Pickle for a day to play babies with!

Are you going to Blogher in July? I want to meet you in person.

For someone whose just added the "follow me" thingy, you sure are racking 'em up ;)
I've had it on my blog... but I don't use it. I still use my Google Reader to get to all the blogs I read.

Anyhoo... cute pics, as usual. And as far as the three celebs I would want to be friends with, hmmmmm....

Paula Deen for sure... love her!
Maybe Ricky Gervais... I think his wit is hysterical!
I'd add Gerard Butler to the list, but I don't think I'd just want to be friends with him, if ya know what I mean...

We don't have AG stores around here, so Princess doesn't really know much about it. Dare I open up that can of worms?
Ostrich is adorable. As always!
