Circus Sticker Shock

It seems Patrick's birthday just won't end! The final phase of the festivities was a trip to the circus with my four boys and two of Patrick's friends. I escorted all six by by myself which was nerve wracking at best. But what really left me reeling was how freaking EXPENSIVE the whole business was.

Going to the circus is like being at the airport--they know you're trapped in there and they can charge whatever crazy-time prices they can dream up.

Let's break down the event:

1. Seven tickets at $50 each--I don't want to add it up--it will depress me!
2. Parking--$20.

3. Program--$15

4.Cotton candy (which included humorous circus hat)--$92. Yes, you read that correctly--spun sugar and some clown hats NINETY TWO DOLLARS!!

5. Hot dogs, french fries and Cokes--$68.
6. Sno-Cones in clown cups--$54!!!!!!!

7. Stuffed elephant for Pickle (who stayed home with Daddy)--$23.

I feel like I have single-handedly helped the state of the U.S. economy with my trip to the circus!

I apologize for the bad picture quality--I took one of the kids' cameras because I didn't want to lug mine. This is the best pic of the show I could get!
But it sort of sums up my state when I finally got out from under the "Big Top"--a little blurry, glittery and confused (and broke!).
