A Not-So-Creative Happy New Year!

I had an idea for this post--I was going to write this quote which appears on January 1st on the little daily calendar I keep in the kitchen because is inspires me when I read it every year:

The new year lies before you
Like a spotless track of snow--
Be careful how you tread it
For every mark will show.

(author unknown)

To go along with the quote, I had this cool idea of posting a picture of our backyard which was blanketed in pristine deep snow--but then the weather went all "Al Gore" and we had torrential rains (and even "thunder snow!") and our subzero temperatures were replaced with crazy warm temperatures that melted all the snow within hours. So that idea was out...

Then an had the idea of doing one of those "years in review" post with pics of all the highlights of my year--but I'm totally confused about my photos as they are on my old computer, new computer and various discs--way too complicated to compile.

Then I had another idea that I would get Pickle on video saying Happy New Year! to everyone. But poor baby is sick today--her "nose is crying" (is that the cutest way you've ever heard a runny nose described!?) and she was in NO mood to humor me with a cutesy video...

So I will just say a boring old HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! to all my blog friends! Hope you have a great one! Resolutions and a recap of our "disgusting crap" party to follow...

Happy New Year to you, too! Can't wait to hear about the "disgusting crap" party soon.

PS Please keep my family in your prayers. Last night I got a call from my mom that my grandmother is on hospice 24/7 and that "the end is near". My parents are on their way down and we all plan to go see her today and let her know that "it's ok to let go"! It's been a long couple of years and we know she is ready to "let go" and finally be with her husband and son!

Are you in Michigan too? We had thunder snow here. In my 41 years I'd never heard of thunder snow before this winter.
