The Disgusting Crap Party

We managed to have a fun New Year's Eve--despite what will forever be known as the "Disgusting Crap Incident."

We ended up playing Scattergories (I won as per usual) and watching the Twilight Zone marathon. We didn't have time for Seinfeld Scene It, but we'll play tonight if this football game the male people are watching will ever end...

Onto the disgusting crap!

For starters we had peach bellinis (the vermin had given Don the bellini mix as a Christmas present--thoughtful!) for us grown-ups and various sparkling fruit beverages for the rug rats.

Then we had these fun little bite-sized salads--very easy to make! Just get these little cracker bowl things and place inside: one half cherry tomato, one half mozzaralla ball, a little fresh basil and a drop of olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Delicious!
Then we had various puffy pastry treats which included:

-beef wellingtons
-fig and goat cheese toasts
-stuffed mushrooms
-phyllo-wrapped blue cheese and cranberry and...
-mini quiches
Some cheeses and pates:

(Those are raisins on that cheese if you were wondering. Also, nobody ate it.)

And for dessert we had cupcakes from a fancy gourmet cupcake place with flavors including...

-bacon maple (for Pickle!)
-banana spiced rum
-champagne brie
-salted caramel and...
-strawberry balsamic.

Crazy delicious!
And some kooky ice creams by Vosges:
(Ancho chili-chocolate and curry-coconut.)

And don't forget the grapes!

We all ate 12 grapes at midnight and the new year must off to a good start because they were all good.

Disgusting Crap? I think not!!Pickle says "Happy New Year!!"

And don't forget to check out Candid Carrie and all her phrenzied Phriday Foto Phun!!

Oh Jennifer... that is a list of nearly all my favourite things... I would have eaten the raisin covered cheese, particularly if it was a roquefort or fetta. Those little salad thingies were such a picture, I have never considered that before (old dogs still learn). Mini salads will definitely become a feature at my place, so simple.

Happy New Year Pickle all the way from Brazil

Nothing disgusting about any of that .. it all looks so yummy, especially since I haven't had my breakfast yet!!

Don't understand why nobody ate the cheese and raisins. They go really well together. In fact, I often make myself cheese and raisin sandwhiches. Yummy.

Pickle looks so cute and a Happy New Year to her as well :-)
