Picklisms!

Pickle has been cracking me up lately. She is having a language explosion and the sentences that she's been putting together lately both impress me and make me laugh simultaneously.

For the past couple of mornings she starts screaming for me the second she wakes up. Screaming. At the top of her lungs "MOOOOMEEEEEE!!!!" Over and over plus just plain screaming.

Yesterday I scrambled to get in there--rushing to throw some clothes on and racing to her room. The second I opened the door, the screaming stopped and she very cheerfully said "Hi Mommy!"

"Why were you screaming like that?" I asked her.

She casually shrugged her shoulders and said "But--I need you so much."

This morning the same crazed screaming occurred, followed my my mad rush to get in there, followed by her cheerful greeting.

Again I asked "Why are you screaming like that."

She shrugged again and said "But--my tiny little dog is on the floor."

She is also having some diaper issues--I think she might be getting close to potty training because the second there is even a slightly wet diaper she freaks out and wants it changed. I think I went through a whole pack of diapers today!

A little background--when she was first learning to talk, she (for reasons I don't understand or remember) started calling her diapers "beets." So when she wants her diaper changed she says "Change my beets" or change my beetsies."

Today she asked for her millionth diaper change and I told her that I had just changed her diaper and that it was fine and she said "But--I have really, really beetsies."

And finally, the other day she was playing in the basement and started desperately calling for help--like life or death-type screaming. I rushed over and found her trying to climb the stairs with Meow-Meow, some kind of caterpillar and what looks to be a skunk. "But--carry Meow-Meow," she demanded.
What a drama queen!!

Jen, what a cutie pie! Just a little word of advice (from a potty training book that I used) if something is going on (like moving, new sibling, etc.) - wait until it is over & life resumes back to normal before beginning pottytraining.

But that was my girls' first signs that they were ready - they hated being in a wet diaper. I love that she calls them Beets. She is a cutie, for sure!!!

Too, too funny! Two of my favorites from my daughter right now are that she calls her bathing suit a "bathing soup" & cupcakes are "pupcakes"! I love little girl-speak!

P.S. I'm just frying up some bacon & thinking of Little Miss Pickle!

I think that was my favorite age.
I know for sure my favorite age was nowhere between twelve and sixteen :(

Doesn't it seem like when they start talking well, it just increases exponentially overnight? Crazy but fun.

Oh yes indeed. I have a little drama queen on my hands too. Right now all she has is babbling but I know soon, the words are going to come.

She is totally seeing if her new founds words work on you! Yep, pretty soon she'll have you doing circles.

She is just precious! I can't wait for my Cate to start talking (begins speech therapy soon), but I am sure once she does, I'll have moments of wishing she couldn't talk as much.

I'm serious...her and Zander were meant for each other. He is a drama queen too....ok.....drama king. Together they rule their mommies and the whole house.

He calls his diapers "dipeys".....so far he's not freaking out if he's wet....so we're still waiting to potty train. :)

Beets, how cute! I wish I could call out and someone would come running to carry my meowmeow up the stairs.

Whew I am with ya on this one!
If I have to go running to pick up one more thing for the Girl! And oh yeah, the diaper issue, she came to me tonight to tell me there was poop in the floor cause she took the diaper off herself instead of telling me. But, she refuses to even sit on the potty but wants every wet one changed. Glad to know someone else is in this with me!
